‘There is something wrong with their son’
Deep in the Wood – aka In fondo al bosco – is a 2015 Italian horror film directed by Stefano Lodovichi from a screenplay co-written with Isabella Aguilar and Davide Orsini. It stars Filippo Nigro, Camilla Filippi and Giovanni Vettorazzo.
Winter 2010, in the Dolomites (a mountain range located in northeastern Italy), Tommaso Conci (Alessandro Corabi), a four year-old boy, disappears during an annual Krampus festival, where people disguised as devils terrorise the locals with whips and chains.
Five years later, a young boy (Teo Achille Caprio) is found nameless and without documents. DNA matches — He is Tommi. Manuel (Filippo Nigro), the father, can finally embrace his son. The mother, Linda (Camilla Filippi), however, cannot adapt to the new situation. A suspicion digs inside her: What if that child is not really her son?
