Black Phillip cider is a 2016 limited edition alcoholic beverage – available now till Halloween – produced by US company Blake’s Hard Cider.
The red-eyed goat on the can and bottles is, of course, a celebration of belligerent and thoroughly evil goat Black Phillip from Robert Eggers’ The Witch although the 4.5% drink (“made from real apples”) does not appear to be officially authorised.
From the company’s website:
‘This new cranberry and blood orange infused semi-sweet cider veers away from the more predictable fall style brews with a more complex and interesting flavor that is perfect for Autumn. This is Blake’s Hard Cider’s first seasonal to be launched in a 12 oz can.’
As a cider aficionado, your Horrorpedia editor is slightly wary about the addition of cranberry and blood orange but it could taste wonderful so I’ll keep an open mind!
