The Deaths of Ian Stone is a 2007 horror film directed by Dario Piana (Too Beautiful to Die) from a screenplay by Brendan Hood. It stars Mike VogelChristina ColeJaime Murray (Devil’s Playground; Fright Night 2), Michael Dixon, Jeff Peterson.

Plot teaser:

Ian Stone is an average man. He loves ice hockey but lives for his girlfriend, Jenny Walker. Late one night while driving home from a painful loss on the ice, Ian comes across a bewildering discovery, that looks like a dead body near the railroad tracks. Investigating the grisly discovery, Ian is attacked by the “corpse”, forced onto the tracks and subsequently run over by an oncoming train.

He wakes up in an office cubicle. He’s still alive, but older and living with a beautiful woman named Medea. Jenny is part of this life, but she’s not his girlfriend, just a co-worker, and one of a number of apparently familiar faces.

Ian meets a strange old man who tells him he is in danger. The old man tells him that he is being hunted by the Harvesters, a group of mind-controlling characters who cannot be killed and feed off human fear…

Reviews:

“Between Vogel’s allure and Stan Winston’s phenomenal production values, The Deaths of Ian Stone could have stood alone without the film festival gimmick. It’s not a perfect film by any means, but it is sheer entertainment. And that’s enough to make this a must-see for horror and science fiction fans alike.” Blake French, Contact Music

The Deaths of Ian Stone is content with being a fairly straight-forward genre piece. Consequently, as we gradually learn what is happening (thanks to a Johnny Explainer character who gives Austin Powers’ Basil Exposition a serious challenge for the title of “Obvious Mouthpiece”), the film becomes less interesting. The puzzle pieces of the plot fall into place well enough, but the picture they form is of a conventional monster movie.” Steve Biodrowski, Cinefantastique

“It’s got a fairly original concept and diverting visual effects from Oscar-winning f/x maestro Stan Winston, who also produced. But this slick genre piece is less than satisfying in narrative and character terms, with a repetitious, gimmicky structure and murky motivation … Action is almost nonstop, but rooting interest palls.” Dennis Harvey, Variety

“Some of the film is a bit Matrix-like and it is never completely explained how Ian goes from one life to the next without starting over each time (it’s slipstream fiction but the film should have offered an explanation). However, if you accept the film at face value and don’t dig to deep for details, it is enjoyable creature horror.” Parlor of Horror

The Deaths of Ian Stone is influenced quite a bit by “Memento,” “The Matrix” and even “Cemetery Man.” It’s got its flaws, but for a miniscule budget movie, it’s pretty impressive in a lot of ways, delivering the kid fo paranoid horror we saw back in the days of “The Twilight Zone.” Lucius Gore, eSplatter

Dr. Renault’s Secret is a 1942 American horror movie produced by 20th Century Fox and directed by Harry Lachman (Charlie Chan films) from a screenplay by William Bruckner and Robert F. Metzler. It is based on the story Balaoo by Gaston Leroux (author of the more famous The Phantom of the Opera) which was adapted as a film in 1913 and again as the 1927 “lost” film The Wizard. It stars J. Carrol Naish (The Monster Maker), Shepperd StrudwickLynne RobertsGeorge Zucco.

Plot teaser:

A young doctor named Larry Forbes (Strudwick) arrives in a French village in order to wed the niece of prominent local doctor, Dr. Renault (Zucco). Dr. Forbes learns from the innkeeper that a storm has washed out the bridge to Renault’s house and he ends up spending the night at the inn. There he meets  Dr. Renault’s strangely deformed man servant, Noel (J. Carrol Naish). It is during the night that the first of the murders occurs. Another tourist takes the room meant for him and is killed mysteriously…

Reviews:

” … for those of us who delight in digging through the trash heaps of cinema’s past, this film is definitely worth a look. It features some amazingly solid acting, especially from Strudwick and Naish, and even George Zucco puts in a credible, restrained (by his standards, anyway) performance. The script does a good job of juxtaposing Noel’s and Rogell’s criminal activities, and with a running time in the 60-minute class, the film moves along at a good, steady clip. By no means a classic, but check it out anyway if the opportunity ever arises.” 1000 Misspent Hours and Counting

“Dr. Renault’s Secret may be more charm than actual suspense, but it’s a pleasant and breezy watch, with a couple of good performances. “J. Carrol Naish’s performance shares considerable credit for making Noel such a strongly sympathetic character. Like Karloff, Naish is able to express a depth of woundedness and loneliness through the make-up and general oddness of the character that is genuinely touching. His quiet manner of speaking and childlike cadence also gives him an innocent quality that makes one very much pity his circumstances. It also, on the other hand, makes his utterance to Dr. Renault, “I could kill you,” all the more disturbing.” Jared Roberts, Lair of the Boyg

Reviews:

” … almost completely disregards story and structure, characterization and emotion in favor of mindless mayhem with only the most basic story-advancing plot elements to allow for some “logical” progression towards the end battle. The movie is very much a Western-inspired one, in that regard, favoring big action and speed rather than depth and meaning. Of course, some viewers might find that a positive, and that’s a justifiable position to take given that Godzilla is a series with its roots in the fantastical.” Martin Liebman, Blu-ray.com

“The music found in Tokyo S.O.S. is one of the better scores for a Godzilla film, composed once again by Oshima. Like Oshima’s previous work, there is some repetition here in the music; however, like Akira Ifukube, Oshima can get away with this as her music works so well even as a stand alone experience … Tokyo S.O.S., at heart, is simply one lengthy kaiju brawl between the three title monsters, who are entangled in a battle that lasts most of the film, something which hasn’t been seen since 1972′s Godzilla vs. Gigan.” Anthony Romero, Tokyo Kingdom

Bereft of characterization, GMMG contains far too many characters for so little time devoted to them. Still, Tezuka imbues a fanciful aura hearkening back to the magical works of Toho’s monster master, Ishiro Honda. GMMG often feels like 90 minutes cut from the previous movie, but is still a lot of fluffy fun replete with spectacular effects work.” Cool Ass Cinema

Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. features plenty of monster combat, for a change minimizing character inner struggle (it’s still there, unfortunately). Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, and Mothra—as well as two new Mothra larvae—get lots of screen time, as Japan is once again obliterated. Fans of atomic breath, light canons, and organic scales and cocoon webbing are in for a treat. The plot is pretty straightforward, but the American dubbing misses many of the nuances of the Japanese version.” Octavio Ramos, Examiner.com

Redemption and Salvation VHS and DVD artwork

return of the evil dead redemption benelux

Redemption Films is a British media company created by Nigel Wingrove that began releasing VHS videos in 1992. Wingrove chose to market the company’s initial releases in stark black and white (with blood red trimmings). The company logo featured Eileen Daly, his wife at the time. Initially, some horror and cult movie fans were perplexed by this distinctive approach but they sold well to the general public and the branding/packaging appealed to stores looking to create cult movie selections.

Eventually. under pressure from admirers of original artwork, Redemption (and Salvation) began to issue their sleeves with both original and new artwork, as many DVD and Blu-ray companies now do. In retrospect, some of the unique artwork for Redemption/Salvation releases has now acquired its own cult status and original VHS tapes such as Crazy Desires of a Murderer are very collectible.

Poster Perversionposterperversion.com - is an internet website devoted to Derrick Ogrodny’s movie memoribilia: posters, ad mats, pressbooks and lobby cards. He explains his raison d’être:

“I don’t consider myself a typical movie-memorabilia collector, since I have no interest in the stuff coveted by most collectors which snags big bucks at auctions and movie memorabilia conventions. My poster perversion sprang out of my love for horror and exploitation films from the 60′s to the 80′s, and so instead of original posters for Star Wars, I have ones for Starcrash, a delirious Italian sci-fi turkey inspired by the George Lucas film.

Instead of Marilyn Monroe, I have lots of Laura Gemser. And James Bond doesn’t have a place in my collection, though Filipino midget super-spy Weng Weng sure does… as do posters hyping oddities with titles like Scum of the Earth, Roadside Torture Chamber, The Gestapo’s Last Orgy and The Sinful Dwarf. For me, the weirder and more obscure the film the better – bonus points if iMDb.com doesn’t have a listing for it. The mere fact that posters and lobby cards for these films still exist and have actually hung in local drive-ins, grindhouses and cinemas around the world impresses me more than their rarity or market value.

Yes, a lot of these posters are bloody, sexist, gratuitous and politically incorrect. They serve as reminders that times have indeed changed, not only for the film industry and audience tastes but for movie-marketing as well. They definitely don’t make ‘em like they used to – what’s missing nowadays is ATTITUDE. Compare the wild, devil-may-care abandon of the artwork on this site to the majority of contemporary movie posters which are boring and formulaic: over-Photoshopped images of the three or four stars of the film spliced together on a one-sheet with the focus-group tested title and tagline slapped on them. What’s worse is, you’ll see the same McPoster in almost every country where that movie is playing – only the titles and taglines will have been versioned for the local market. Yet there was a time when each country would have it’s own version of a movie poster depending on the whims of the local distributor or imagination of the graphic designer.”

Reviews:

“Why use the backdrop of one of the most intriguing serial killer stories in history in order to tell a fairly drab story about a creepy guy who turns out to be the killer (in a film that offers no other suspects to boot)? It hardly makes for gripping cinema, nor does it really teach you anything about the real case.” Horror Movie a Day

“Palance is free of the breathy, asthmatic overacting of the performances he gave in later life and with gaunt, bony face he has effectively harsh and sinister presence in the film. This version is better budgeted than the 1944 version and directed with a basic, although not standout, competence. However, it also lacks the entertainingly overwrought melodramaticism of the 1944 version and as such is no more than an ordinary psycho-thriller.” Moria

“I wasn’t very keen on how certain characters and locations were ‘Americanised’ by default. Especially when you take into consideration that Man in the Attic was meant to be a English based film set in London. (Pssst! If you look very closely at the daytime scenes, you can clearly see American style sidewalks and houses in the backgrounds).” Comic Book and Movie Reviews

“Palance finds in Slade a character whom his forced, clunky, and erratic acting actually makes more convincing than would be the case had he been portrayed with even the slightest touch of finesse. It is for this reason that Palance’s presence here does not have its usual effect, dragging an otherwise quite classy movie down into the gutter. Instead, he and his character fit right into their place in the film, which, while by no means a classic, is a sturdy little piece of work, and one which deserves to be better known.” 1000 Misspent Hours and Counting

Centipede Horror isn’t particularly gory or sleazy but it is pretty gross. I mean these are giant ass bugs here. We’re talking over 6 inches long and an inch wide, crawling all over folks. “Not for the squeamish. There’s a lot of live centipedes and live scorpions running around in this movie, accompanied by a really over-emphasized skittering sound effect. Above and beyond the screaming myriapod nightmares that crawl unceasingly through this film, it’s none-too-shabby, with a nice little mystery-solving plotline and weird magic going on.  Far from the gruesome centipede-fest I’d been expecting, it’s actually a little bland on the grue-front, plus it threw in some surprise gratuitous nudity.” Bill Adcock, Radiation Scarred Reviews

“While far from the nightmarish vision many would have you believe it is, Centipede Horror is a relatively interesting, occasionally successful, and unarguably weird take on the black magic theme popular in the Hong Kong cinema of the time.  It’s a pity Keith Li didn’t direct more than the few films he did, as I quite enjoyed myself with this one.  While not recommended for the squeamish or bug-fearing, fans of the genre are encouraged to indulge.” Kevin Pyrtle, Wtf-Film

Hotel Inferno is a 2013 action/crime/horror film written, produced and directed by Giulio de Santi.

Review:

This will probably be easier if I transcribe the film’s description direct from their website:

“The contract killer Frank Zimosa has just been hired for a ridiculously lucrative mission by the rich and powerful Jorge Mistrandia. The objective: to kill a couple of people hiding in one of his European hotels. What would look like one of the simplest jobs Frank has ever had is just about to turn into a living nightmare. He will soon realize he’s nothing more than prey for Mistrandia and his army of crazy henchmen that have hiding in the hotel along with an ancient and unstoppable Horror. In their hotels you can only rent rooms….in Hell! See everything through the eyes of the anti-hero Frank Zimosa and boost your mind with an overdose of: nonstop violence, adrenaline, and pure fear, surrounded in a mysterious, deep and twisted story. You won’t just watch it, you will experience it”.

hi2

Directed by Giulio de Santi and from the Necrostorm stable, also home to Adam Chaplin, the unique selling point of the film, aside from the utterly gratuitous gore-flinging, is that the whole film is shown in first-person. The ruse that allows this to pass is that Zimosa, as part of his contract, is obliged to don a pair of spectacles that will record all his killings for the benefit of his mysterious employer. This conceit rather presupposes that there was a demand for such an innovation and initial fears that this is going to be a tricky technique to carry over full-length movie (albeit 80 minutes) soon prove sadly correct – angles, characters, motives and spatial awareness all being thrown into the air with good intentions but bad catching skills.

Image may be NSFW.

Zimosa (who I kept hearing as ‘Samosa’, a distinctly un-chilling name) is required to only perpetrate the killings using only the weapons (under no circumstances these being guns) provided and remove his victim’s brain and viscera, without ever questioning why. If this sounds a flimsy excuse to show an array of blunt implements being used to cave-in heads, you’re possibly already above the intellectual expectation the film-makers envisaged this movie attracting. Zimosa screws up these instructions almost instantly, condemning himself to becoming a permanent resident in the hotel in a plot that takes what it probably imagines to be a Lovecraftian twist but which is sadly neither lovely, crafty nor twisty.

There is, for those who are less fussy about plot and more picky about innards, a staggering about of lingering gory sequences, executed in an accomplished but rather childish manner. To allow for the relatively costly effects, much money was evidently saved on the actors and script – essentially there are only three roles that require voices, Zimosa (Rayner Bourton (Outland, You’re Dead), his nagging girlfriend and Mistrandia (Michael Howe, whose career has swung from The Two Ronnies comedy to The Hunger to the Unman of Unman, Wittering and Zigo). All these vocal performances are catastrophic.

Which brings us to the crux of the issue; this film is made almost exclusively for a generation of video game players, who have descended into such laziness that they now require someone to play the game for them. The voice-acting, is entirely in keeping with the unconvincing but to-the-point delivery of innumerable slash ‘n’ dice console games, as is the dizzying pace which dispenses with sense and subtlety before you’ve even begun to query why someone keeps asking for samosas.

At the film’s best, it’s Bad Taste without the fun, at its worst, you begin to feel guilty for not pressing ‘stop’. There are brief moments where the first-person view hints at potentially claustrophobic set-pieces but these are soon shuffled along as neither film-maker nor audience can evidently wait longer than two minutes for a crushed cranium. The DVD is stuffed with extras, a special edition even included a Hotel Inferno cigarette lighter. It’s a shame the audience that would enjoy this best is actually too young to smoke.

Review:

“Some sequences work beautifully and some of the action set pieces are exciting, but the disjointed nature of the film and lack of focus are painfully obvious resulting in a movie that is made all the more worse in that the script had an enormous amount of possibilities. It’s definitely a time capsule movie in that it there is no way anyone would mistake it being made in any time period but the 1980′s. The entire movie reeks of the decade from the clothes to the music. Not necessarily a bad thing, it just depends on ones point of view.” Cool Ass Cinema

“Boasting a strange ambiance from start to finish, Neon Maniacs is like no film I have ever seen before. Everything from the staging of the murders to the dramatic pacing seemed off somehow. Chalk it up to sheer incompetence or a total lack of inexperience on the part of the filmmakers, but whatever they did, it repeatedly ended up being the correct course of action. For example, the decision to use that sinister sounding synthesizer flourish whenever the Maniacs would appear on-screen was the epitome of correctness.” House of Self-Indulgence

“Now, on to the negative. That would include the direction, writing, editing, music, sound, most of the acting and pretty much everything else … The mutants are just there without purpose or reason; killing people, again, for no reason. Seeing how they went to great lengths to make each of the mutant designs so distinctive and elaborate, you’d figure they’d set aside a minute or two to provide them with an origin, an explanation or a mythology to make them, you know, actually interesting.” The Bloody Pit of Horror

“If Alejandro Jodorowsky somehow wound up working on a movie for New World Pictures in the 80s, this is probably what would have happened. I can’t for certain credit artistic ineptitude, or even the interference of censors or the studio for this film’s end result. All I know is that watching this must be very close to experiencing brain damage by way of fever dream. Is something missing, or am I missing something?” Joe Dropout, VHS Summer

title

Cannibal Terror (original title: Terreur Cannibale) is a 1980 French/Spanish horror film. It was directed by porn specialist Alain Deruelle [as A.W. Steeve], Olivier Mathot and Julio Pérez Tabernero (Sexy CatLas alegres vampiras de Vögel; Hot Panties) from a screenplay by Tabernero and H.L. Rostaine. Jesus Franco was also apparently an uncredited co-writer. It stars Silvia Solar (EyeballDevil’s Kiss), Pamela Stanford (Lorna the Exorcist; Sexy Sisters), Burt Altman [Bertrand Altmann] (Zombie Lake; Devil Hunter), Stan Hamilton, Gérard Lemaire, Olivier Mathot (Revenge in the House of Usher; Maniac Killer), Antonio Mayans and Sabrina Siani (Ator, the Fighting Eagle; Conquest).

The film is notable for the fact that it shares an amount of footage with Mondo Cannibale (also known as Cannibals and White Cannibal Queen,1980). While many sources suggest that Franco’s footage was ‘borrowed’ for Cannibal Terror, a closer examination reveals that there are more connections than this between the two films. Both films share a number of locations, cast, and even dubbing actors. Some connections that suggest more than a mere ‘borrowing’ of footage are:

Sabrina Siani is the White Cannibal Queen of Mondo Cannibale, and also appears (as a fully clothed adult) in a bar scene in Cannibal Terror. Several shots of the dancing cannibal tribe in their village are common to both films, and several shots appear only in one or the other. One actor with a very distinctive face is seen in Cannibal Terror in no less than three roles (two cannibals and one border guard) and is also quite visible as one of the cannibals devouring Al Cliver’s wife in Mondo Cannibale.

In addition are the obvious cast parallels of Olivier Mathot, Antonio Mayans, both of whom have starring roles in both films. Porn star Pamela Stanford plays Manuella in Cannibal Terror, and has the brief role of the unfortunate Mrs. Jeremy Taylor in Cannibals.

Reviews:

Cannibal Terror is awful, to be sure, even more so than other Eurocine efforts may have led you to expect. That’s not to say that it isn’t fun, and I found myself enjoying it a bit in spite of [or is that because of?] the criticisms above. While I can’t recommend it as horror, those looking for the next great bad movie may want to check it out. The Severin disc is excellent, and highly recommended for those looking to complete their Video Nasties collection.” Wtf-Film

“The Pyrenees Mountains standing in for the Amazonian jungle. The flagrantly Caucasian “Indians” and their tiki bar village. The gore effects so pitiful that the camera itself often seems to be ashamed to look at them. The ludicrously inappropriate score, which makes the city theme from Make Them Die Slowly seem like the epitome of taste and sound judgement. The steadfast failure of the script to make any sense at all at any level. Yes, Cannibal Terror truly is the Zombie Lake of cannibal movies, and as such, I score it as a film not to be missed.” 1000 Misspent Hours and Counting

“You wonder when the cannibals are coming. They take the kidnapped girl to the jungle (somewhere in a conservatory in Paris, from the looks of it), when they finally encounter the cannibals – the least convincing cannibals in film – caucasians, make-up that stops at their neck, side-burns, comb-overs, potbellies. They dance. They eat pig entrails. They dance again. They threaten. They dance again. Not much happens after that.” Down Among the “Z” Movies

“What follows is repetitive mind numbing padding. People walk around the jungle and then walk around some more. The cannibals peek through the trees watching them walk around. The girl’s parents, along with some cops also… walk around. After an indefinite amount of walking around, the cannibals make themselves known and capture Roberto and his girlfriend and harbor the little girl.” Strictly Splatter

Reviews:

The film has met with mixed reviews. Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama gave it 4/5 stars and called it a “creepy, spine-chilling date movie” saying, “Ragini MMS amalgamates components of horror, paranormal and sex seamlessly. It titillates, it petrifies, but most importantly, it tells you a story which is daunting, imaginative and unconventional.

Naresh Deoshi from Apunka Choice also gave the film 4/5 stars calling it “a damn scary film!

Ankur Pathak from Rediff.com gave the film 3.5/5 stars and said “Ekta Kapoor’s new film is terrifyingly real, and immensely watchable for the cold fright it inspires. She must be lauded for relying on young actors, and believing in the risky attempt of largely untouched storytelling.”

Nikhat Kazmi from the Times of India gave the film 3.5/5 stars as well. She said “…Ragini MMS makes a heady cocktail of sex and horror that’s so very different from run-of-the-mill Bollywood.” Shubha Shetty-Saha gave the film a good review of 3/5 and said “some scenes were so scary, that I actually wanted to run out of the theatre.”

Plot summary:

The events depicted in Web are written from the viewpoint of Arnold Delgrange, a man whose wife and daughter were recently killed in a motor collision. They revolve around a failed attempt to establish a utopian colony on the fictional island Tanakuatua in the Pacific Ocean, remote from civilisation. Tanakuatua is now uninhabited by humans, as its native inhabitants were evacuated from the island due to British nuclear testing and were relocated. However a small group of natives defy the evacuation order and placed a curse on any people who returned to the island. When Delgrange and his fellow pioneers reach the island they soon discover it has been overrun by spiders that hunt in packs.

Linnea Quigley’s Horror Workout

horroworkout

Linnea Quigley‘s Horror Workout isn’t really a movie. It’s not even a workout video. I don’t know what it is, but I’m sure glad it exists. The 1990 video begins, as it should, with a lengthy shower scene. Quigley‘s boobs make their first appearance before the opening minute is out.

The titles appear as Quigley soaps herself up to a synth-soaked soundtrack composed by John Vulich. Vulich’s score is, rather jarringly, out of time. Stepping out of the shower, Quigley breaks the fourth wall, looks right down the barrel of the camera, and screams.

With the opening titles wrapped up, Quigley settles down in front of her fireplace and discusses her career. She shows several clips from such as Creepozoids (1987),Assault of the Party Nerds (1989) and other stinkers they could get the rights for.

After a lengthy sequence of clips, the fitness workout finally begins. Sporting fishnet stockings and a metal-studded bra (“Would you want to watch me work out in a baggy sweatsuit?” Quigley asks. “No,” says I), she launches into a series of aerobic exercises, all of which showcase some part of her scantily clad body. While stretching and twisting, the 80s Scream Queen delivers sexually charged instruction:

- “It keeps me limber, so I can get out of tight places… or into them.”
- “This one increases your ability to keep your legs in the air… I can do this one for hours!”
- “This one is great for the guys… I mean thighs!”
- “That’s right stretch those muscles… not that muscle!”
- “Deep breathing will increase lung capacity… as you can see I’m a real… deep… breather.”

The routine goes on for some time. Halfway through, Quigley is interrupted by a dirty phone call, which at first offends her but then seems to turn her on. The routine wraps up at the twenty minute mark, and we cut to Quigley jogging through a cemetery. She attracts the attention of a horde of zombies, which leads to a zombified version of “What’s the time, Mr Wolf?”

The zombies follow Quigley into her house. Telling the living dead stalkers that they need to get into shape, Quigley does an aerobic dance routine with them by her pool. At some point during this ten minute sequence, something broke in my brain.

Quigley then decides she’s had enough of a workout and invites a bunch of her lingerie-sporting girlfriends over for a slumber party. Again, we’re treating to another lengthy clip parade as she and her pals watch scenes from her movies. To work off the popcorn, Quigley and Co. dive into another aerobics session that features a lot of obnoxious crotch shots.

horrorworkout6

The workout is interrupted by a power outage. Quigley investigates leaving her friends to the mercy of a Ronald Reagan-masked killer. Linnea Quigley‘s Horror Workout‘s final act is pretty fabulous. It even tosses a bit of cheap gore up on the screen.

It’s such a sadness that we live in a time where something like Linnea Quigley‘s Horror Workout could never exist. This is unashamedly gratuitous and campy silliness made with tongue firmly planted in cheek but without the eye-rolling irony of our current sneering times. And if nothing else, this makes one hell of a party tape. Thanks, Linnea Quigley, you are brilliant.

The Horror of It All is a 1964 British comedy horror film executive produced by Robert L. Lippert (WitchcraftThe Earth Dies Screaming; The Curse of the Fly) and directed by Terence Fisher from a screenplay by Ray Russell. It stars American pop singer Pat BooneErica Rogers, Dennis PriceAndree Melly (The Brides of Dracula)Valentine Dyall, Jack Bligh (Night of the Big Heat), Archie Duncan (X: The Unknown), Erik Chitty (Lust for a Vampire; The Vault of Horror), Oswald Laurence.

In the USA, the film was released on a double-bill with another Lippert production, Witchcraft.

Review:

“At its best, The Horror of It All has an akilter kinkiness; mostly it is just silly freneticism. The film climaxes with a ridiculously contrived double twist ending. Pat Boone sings the title song in the middle of the film. The Horror of It All is usually an embarrassing black mark that is quickly passed over by those who raised Terence Fisher to cult status in the 1970s.” Moria

” … an ‘old dark house’ sort of horror/comedy that fails, in the main, because the comedy is lightweight at best and struggles to find a humorous pace (Uncle Percival (Jack Bligh) aside.” Taliesin Meets the Vampires
