Reviews:
“Unfortunately it just isn’t quite as much fun as its predecessor. Despite its occasional outlandishness (love those under-worldly dimension scenes), this entry feels rather generic, kind of like a Gremlins knock-off with the Puppet Master dolls thrown in. It’s also generally less exploitive too…” James Gillett, Digital Retribution
” …one of the slickest entries in the series with a vivid, often beautiful color palette, some fun mobile camera work, and detailed production design and character animation. The script is definitely on the thin side with little shading given to the characters, but considering everyone’s really here to see the puppets in action, the film definitely delivers.” Nathaniel Thompson, Mondo Digital
” …a little too goofy and over-the-top considering how fairly well grounded the previous films were. Puppet Master 4 is strictly for die-hard fans of the series and even some of those, like me, will struggle to sit through this yawn-fest with the promise of a small amount of cheesy puppet action at the end.” Andrew Smith, Popcorn Pictures
“All of the human actors in Puppet Master 4 are thoroughly disposable, so the only real enjoyment comes from watching the puppets […] They were never really “scary” to begin with but the switching of allegiances is the tell-tale sign that more and more these flicks were being aimed at kids.” Mitch Lovell, The Video Vacuum
