Director Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat; Krampus) is currently helming Godzilla: King of Monsters, set for release on March 31, 2019 by Warner Bros.
Entertainment Weekly previously released the first two official images from the movie. The shot above is clearly radioactive Godzilla breathing fire while the one below shows Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring) and Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) looking anxious, as well they might.
Now we have the first teaser trailer:
The Legendary sequel, which takes place five years after the events in the first film, has Dr. Emma Russell (Farmiga) as a scientist working for the monster-hunting organisation Monarch, with her daughter Madison (Brown) in tow. Monarch members have to face a battery of huge monsters, including the aforementioned Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.
Meanwhile, there are plans for Godzilla to eventually meet King Kong in Godzilla vs Kong, with a release date of May 29, 2020, already set.
