Reviews:
“Although The Tag-Along 2 is short of creative scares – an all-too convenient, albeit visually intriguing riff on provincial folklore sees Ya-ting’s boyfriend (Wu Nien-hsuan) moonlighting as a local medium who specialises in channelling a formidable, tigerlike deity – the film qualifies as more than passable entertainment with its tightly woven storylines and strong performances across a uniformly solid cast.” Edmund Lee, South China Morning Post
“The mediumship sequences will no doubt feel uncomfortable to some as a religious method, but it is authentic and compelling, while providing another level of the supernatural to the works, all the way except the end where the lacklustre CGI becomes more of a distraction than an asset.” Morgan Awyong, Movie Exclusive
“It’s not a complete loss as the climax is certainly a thrilling pay-off but nowhere near as satisfying as the brilliant build-up. Much more than a trashy quickie horror sequel (at least up until the last half hour) than many might be expecting, The Tag-Along 2 is an entertaining ghostly romp that when on form, expertly blends drama and frights.” Andrew Skeates, Far East Films
