Aksbandh – translation: “Husbandhood” – is a 2016 Pakistani found footage horror film directed by Emran Hussain from a screenplay co-written with Ayaz Samoo. It stars Arshad Ali, Saud Imtiaz and Danial Afzal Khan.

Five young filmmakers suddenly disappear whilst shooting in the woods near Drigh Lake, Larkana, Pakistan, in January 2014. A week later, their camera was found containing details about what happened to them…

Director Emran Hussain is quoted in the Express Tribune: “Horror is a good genre to break into the market. A lot of indie filmmakers are making horror because it doesn’t require a big budget. I loved horror movies as a kid. I grew up watching movies such as The Exorcist, Blair Witch Project and others. Aksbandh neither made a profit nor a loss and it taught me a lot about each stage of filmmaking.”

Main cast:

Arshad Ali, Ayaz Samoo, Danial Afzal Khan, Saud Imtiaz, Shehzeen Rahat, Mahrukh Rizvi, Bilal Yousufzai.

Trivia:

The film was previously known as Paranormal Karachi Nights
