Dark Exorcism – aka …In the Dark – is a 2015 American supernatural horror film written and directed by David Spaltro. It stars Grace Folsom, Lynn Justinger and Fiona Horrigan.

Dr. Kearne invites Carpenter to join her in the field on an investigatory trip to a Brooklyn home that is supposedly “besieged by evil.” Once at the residence of nurse Joan Mills (Catherine Cobb Ryan) and Bethany (Grace Folsom), her recently returned daughter, the investigators are immediately confronted with dark secrets, darker energies, and unexplainably horrific events…

Reviews:

” …stands tall above other indie horrors of its ilk, largely due to Spaltro’s background in dramatic storytelling. By taking the time to flesh out the personalities of each character, Spaltro grounds the horror and encourages the viewer to sympathise with their individual plights.” David Opie, Flickering Myth

” …In The Dark does have some genuinely creepy moments but I felt that it played it too safe, and doesn’t stand out too much in an already saturated sub-genre. It’s use of shadow creatures at the start and it’s use of darkness could have been used more…” Christopher Stewart, UK Horror Scene

Dark Exorcism is not a perfect film, but it’s a cut above most films in the possession sub-genre. Frightening, terrifically acted, and above all, entertaining – Dark Exorcism will be appreciated by horror fans in need of a great story and suggests a bright future for director David Spaltro.” Curt Oglesbee, Horror Geek Life

“…In the Dark is a movie that boasts a good story and strong cast, as well as a dark atmosphere and some genuinely scary moments. Both horror and drama fans should find much to enjoy in this film.” Hugo Ozman, Screen Anarchy
