The Invisible Man is a 2017 American Universal horror film reboot of the original 1933 film and its sequels.
On February 10, 2016, Deadline reported that Johnny Depp – The Ninth Gate; Sleepy Hollow; From Hell; Ed Wood; Dark Shadows – has been signed up to play the H.G. Wells’ character that originally made Claude Rains famous as the scientist that turns himself invisible, and eventually insane.
The film is slated for a June 9, 2017, release and follows recent Universal news that Tom Cruise has been signed up for The Mummy reboot. Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan will produce.
