Review:
Veteran trash film ‘auteur’ Ted V. Mikels proves that he has still learnt nothing about making entertaining movies, even though he has been dabbling in the horror, sci-fi and action genres since the late 1960s.
Paranormal Extremes offers sub-amateur acting performances, a hilariously inept script (that was surely written on the hoof, scene-by-scene?), gratingly mismatched overly-dramatic music library cues and minor not-so-special effects. These elements all combine in an overlong (an hour and 42 minutes!) mess to induce the equivalent of a coma. The vaguely amusing scenes involving the sceptical ‘Paranormal Wars’ film crew make this slightly less of an endurance test but its a case of the proverbial too little, too late.
And yet, this insult to anyone’s intelligence has been released on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD, because the inclusion of the words ‘Paranormal’ and ‘Extreme’ will always sucker in some punters, so shyster ‘filmmaker’ Mikels is clearly having the last laugh. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
