Mania is a 1973 Italian erotic horror film written, directed and produced by Renato Polselli (Black Magic Rites) as Ralph Brown. The film had a limited theatrical release in 1974 due to censorship issues. It stars Isarco Ravaioli, Eva Spadaro, Carla Mancini, Max Dorian, Brad Euston and Mirella Rossi.
The film was considered ‘lost’ until 2007 when when a 35mm copy was discovered in the censor’s archive in Rome and then screened along with a few other titles at the Trevi cinema as part of a festival devoted to Polselli, who died in 2006. It was due to have been released on DVD by NoShame just before they went out of business.
Professor Brecht (Brad Euston) finds out his wife Lisa (Eva Spadaro) is having an affair with his twin brother Giordano. His brother disappears in mysterious circumstances and he takes his place, pretending to be him, driving his wife insane…
